SINGAPORE, 28 Mar 2023 – SPTel, a joint venture company of ST Engineering and SP Group, has announced the launch of the SPTel Multi-network SIM (Subscriber Identity Module), which offers connectivity to three major Singapore-based telco network providers in one SIM. This new product enables organisations to enjoy telco diversity without changing SIM cards, removing the hassle of managing multiple SIM cards for Machine-to-Machine (M2M) and Internet of Things (IoT) projects. This allows organisations to stay connected anytime, anywhere with in-built back-up coverage, ensuring constant and reliable network connectivity.
The introduction of the SPTel Multi-network SIM will support Smart Nation initiatives, especially in industries where automation is required to reduce manpower costs and increase productivity. Notable use cases will be in logistics, automotive, connected health, video analytics, EV charging and building maintenance which support critical functions and therefore require high availability for their connectivity. In such situations the transmission of larger volumes of data, or even mobility may be required, making a multi-network SIM an ideal solution. Furthermore, the SPTel Multi-network SIM’s single dashboard simplifies after-sales care, with a single point of contact for support and billing, allowing Singapore to move forward on its digital roadmap with convenience.
“We are proud to introduce the SPTel Multi-network SIM, a solution that will enhance mobile network diversity for critical applications in Singapore which is in line with our promise of delivering network reliability with an edge. This product can affordably and conveniently ease operations in various projects with its auto failover features and single dashboard for monitoring. The SPTel Multi-network SIM is a step towards a more digital future, but more importantly, it harnesses the potential to better the lives of people through the promise of stronger, more reliable connectivity. For instance, the SIM is currently deployed to provide more reliable connectivity to thousands of lifts that utilise IoT infrastructure for component monitoring and predictive maintenance.” said Heng Kwee Tong, Vice President, Engineering and Customer Solutions at SPTel.
