Job Brief

When it comes to reliability and security of the network, SPTel offers no compromise. Our network is monitored 24/7 by an Integrated Operations Centre and supported by a technically competent Technical Operations team (TechOps) that is well-versed in the various domains of IP & Transport, InfoSecurity, IoT & Cloud Ops, and Network Management & Support Tools.

The candidate should possess strong leadership with resolution and technical problem identification skills and passionate in solving customer’s issue by putting the ‘Customer First’.

He/ She is required to manage and lead the TechOps team in supporting proactive Change Management of the active infrastructure, Incident and Problem Management from all incoming escalation or technical escalations and provide great service experience in recovery of customer services in the shortest possible time.

Candidate must also apply the urgency and quick in response to any network anomaly in the operation. He/ She is to build the trust and confidence with customer through quick restoration of services.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manages a team of engineers in the TechOps team.
  • Manage Incident Management and Problem Management Process and Escalation to meet SLA.
  • To be contactable 24 x 7 as an escalation contact.
  • Trending analysis and identify gap areas with recommendation for Change Requests raised or implemented by TechOps, where applicable.
  • Incident Review & Improvement, including strategies in improvement of the active network and driving down fault cases.
  • Vendor management for fault tickets and maintenance.
  • Budget and forecast Department expenditures.
  • Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by superior from time to time.
Requirements
  • Degree or Diploma in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Candidates with at least 7 – 10 years of leadership and technical support experience in a Telco Technical Tier 3 environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Fibre, Carrier IP and Transport Networks providing Metro-E, IPVPN, DWDM, IoT, Private Cloud and cyber-security services.
  • Forward thinking on technology, keeping current with best practices and industry trend.
  • Good understanding of Public, Hybrid Cloud configuration, diversity across platforms.
  • Strong understanding of networking technologies (routers, switches, TCP/IP)
  • Experience with different platform technologies (Windows, Linux, VMware, MacOS)
  • Experience with security technologies (IDS, IPS, FW, AV, Proxies, DLP, PKI, SSL/TLS, SSL visibility, VPN)
  • Good analytical skills with experience of various OSS platforms and Network Management System (NMS).
  • Good communications skill with pleasant personality and experience in customer service.

Job Brief

We are looking for an Engineer/Senior Engineer who is passionate about security with at least 5 years of experience in network security.

 This rewarding role will best suit someone with network experience, and the ability to work closely with our engineers to deliver large scale network security solutions.

 Experience working with cyber security and in a CII(Critical Information Infrastructure) environment will be an added advantage.

 

Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Network Security

  • Protect Telco cloud infrastructure and corporate IT network systems. Be responsible for the implementation and management of security-related applications and systems as system owner.
  • Lead to architect, implement, manage and continuously improve security-related systems including but not limited to NGFW, IPS, WAF, Anti-DDoS, AD(Active Directory), TACACS+, PAM, MFA, EDR, EPP/SP, SIEM, ZTNA, and SASE.
  • Develop Standard Operational Procedures(SOP), Manual of Procedures(MOP), and operational documentation for service delivery and change requests.
  • Lead Proof of Concepts (POC) for emerging security technologies and managed security services (MSS).
  • Support the team as Layer 3 technical support for security-related systems issues, SOC alerts, etc.
  • Support ISMS and ISO27001 implementation.

     Customer Cybersecurity Support

    • Evaluate and respond to customer tenders and cybersecurity inquiries, including infrastructure security compliance, managed security services compliance and data privacy compliance.
    • Support the Sales and Solution teams in addressing supply chain and third-party cybersecurity requirements.

     Incident Response Management

    • Support the company’s response to cybersecurity incidents and threats.
    • Develop and maintain incident response plans, SOC alert playbooks, cyber incident playbooks and conduct annual cyber table-top exercises and/or simulations.
    • Provide incident investigation support to SOC and technical operations teams.
    • Monitoring and managing all security breaches and handling security incidents, taking remedial action to prevent recurrence wherever possible.

     And other duties as assigned by the InfoSecurity lead.

     

    Requirements
    • Tertiary qualification in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, IT / Engineering or equivalent.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in cybersecurity.
    • Strong understanding of security architecture across network, infrastructure, and endpoint layers.
    • Familiarity with security operations, risk assessments, incident management, and customer cybersecurity support.
    • Hands-on experience with security technologies (e.g., Firewall, IPS/IDS, WAF, DDoS Protection, AD, PAM, SIEM, EDR, ZTNA).
    • Have experience creating design documents (HLD, LLD) diagrams, and presentations.
    • Have experience in project management.
    • Strategic mindset with strong problem-solving and risk mitigation skills.
    • Ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams, auditors, and customers.
    • Enjoy working with different stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-tasking.

        • Manage the network through Network Management Systems and Controllers
        • Monitor the network performance and carry out recovery of fault during network outage.
        • Execute the operating model guided by the relevant process and implementation manuals.
        • Derive processes and SOPs for implementation such as Method of Procedures (MOPs), High Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documents.
        • Collaborate with Network Planning Engineering Team in formulating the designs and plans for network implementation.

          • Hands on technical and implementation experience
          • Strong knowledge in IP (L2/L3) network. With at least 3-5 years’ experience in planning, implementation, or operation of IP network
          • Knowledge and experience in Transmission network (DWDM, GPON)
          • Knowledge and Experience in Infoblox and F5 load balancers (BIQ-IP, GTM, LTM)
          • Knowledge in Software Define Network and Network Security is desirable
          • CCNP or equivalent (CCIE or equivalent will be preferred.)

          SPTel offers IoT-as-a-Service, an innovative platform that manages Multi-Edge-Computing (MEC) resources and IoT devices to enable Smart Nation services with advanced edge computing capabilities. Our unique proposition leverages a distributed Edge Compute cloud platform to efficiently handle processing and storage-intensive IoT applications, including video surveillance, analytics, 5G carrier hotel services, and Massive Machine Type Communications. The platform supports multiple IoT technologies such as LoRaWAN, WiFi, and MQTT.

          Responsibilities
          • Identify, propose, deploy, and support client IoT strategies and solutions
          • Perform radio planning and network design for SPTel’s IoT platform
          • Troubleshoot end-to-end device onboarding processes, from initial setup to customer endpoints
          • Provide ongoing support for the commercial launch of IoT solutions
          • Serve as a subject matter expert, educating and training internal teams
          • Lead RFI/RFP/RFQ processes for IoT-related projects
