An experienced business leader with 30 years of experience in the ICT space, Mr. Titus Yong is the chief executive officer of SPTel, an ST Engineering and SP Group JV.
He is responsible for growing SPTel’s B2B connectivity, digital and ICT solutions and launching Singapore’s first end-to-end software defined network (SDN) with end-end Digitalization of customer services.
Mr. Yong joined Singtel in 1998 and has held various Top Management positions within the company including an overseas post as VP, Business Marketing and Products Management at Optus Business in Australia. He also served on the board of the Hong Kong stock exchange-listed APT Satellite Company, SingaSat Private Limited and the Asia Pacific Satellite Communications Council.
During his tenure at Singtel, Mr. Yong, as Vice President of Business Sales, led the SME and Emerging Business division and spearheaded SME business digitalization enablement through the launch of the 99% SME campaign. This nation-wide movement garnered the support of many enterprises and industry alliances to support local SME businesses going digital via an eMarketing platform. Prior to this role, as Vice President of Global Satellite Business, he led a team of Advanced Space program specialists across Singapore, Australia, and Taiwan to successfully launch two satellite programs worth more than S$400 million to expand Singtel’s fixed satellite market from Asia to Africa. He also led Singtel’s foray into the managed hosting services market in the early 2000s and was responsible for conceptualising and implementing EXPAN, a Pan Asian network of twenty-four direct-owned and alliances’ data centres business.
Prior to joining Singtel in 1998, Mr. Yong served in various multinational corporations such as IBM, Sun Microsystems, and Citibank Global Technology.
Throughout his career, Mr. Yong has been a champion of customer experience improvement initiatives, leading multifunctional, cross-disciplinary teams to deliver year-on-year revenue and margin growth.
Mr. Yong earned a bachelor’s degree in Engineering and Communications from the National University of Singapore. He actively volunteers for grassroots causes, which included his roles as Chairman of East View Primary School SAC and member of the Kuo Chuan School Management Board.
