“We all need people who will give us feedback. That’s how we improve.” - Bill Gates
Similar to Bill Gates, our Senior Analyst, Dinesh Reddy Jetti, believes that feedback, when taken positively, is key to success.
Dinesh possesses a Bachelor of Technology, Electronics and Communications and has more than 6 years of working experience. His strengths include mastering the use of a test automation tool called Selenium and a new Process automation tool called Robotic Process Automation (RPA). Selenium is an umbrella project encapsulating a variety of tools and libraries enabling web browser automation while RPA technology configures the computer software, or a “robot” to emulate and integrate the actions of a human interacting within digital systems to execute a business process. With Selenium and RPA, Dinesh is now able to pull out reports on a daily basis from the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) System and do a quick verification between CRM and Business Relationship Management (BRM) systems.
We asked him what made him interested in learning to use and implement such technology.
“Feedback is critical for a business to continue to evolve. The faster and more effectively we can gain feedback from our systems, the better. By automating the process of pulling reports, I can now provide feedback to the team daily, allowing us to make even minute tweaks to our processes as needed.”
Dinesh personally also takes an open mindset to receiving feedback.
“The most important part of your work is being open to feedback. Regardless of whether the feedback is positive or negative, it represents a very important instrument for measuring the quality of work and offers insights on areas that need improvement. When you start to accept and appreciate feedback, that’s when you can better yourself and transform your day into a very productive and cheerful one.”
With Dinesh’s positive attitude towards feedback and his keen interest to learn from mentors in SPTel, he has continued to grow exponentially in his role. Besides on the job learning experience, he was also given the opportunity to be exposed to leading automation and performance tools such as Selenium, Appium, Jenkins, RPA, Load Runner and Jmeter.
Aside from a positive view on receiving feedback, Dinesh also talks about his 3 main principles guiding him in his working life. Firstly, continuous testing and learning about the product will help improve one’s ability in critical thinking. Secondly, what can be automated should be automated. As far as possible, to ensure at least 80% of test cases are done with automation. Lastly, quality is everyone’s responsibility. Everyone has a part to play to ensure that we deliver the best products and services to our customers.
Outside of work, Dinesh enjoys watching movies and playing cricket.
